May the peace and blessings of Almighty God be upon you.

"And when the female infant buried alive is questioned. For what sin was she killed ?" Quran 81:8-9.

Decreasing Female Birth Rate
The last week news article shows the figures of decreasing female birth rate, in the state of Kerala, India, due to the female infanticide. The so called civilized society is doing D & C (dilation and curettage) for literally killing the baby, right from the womb, if the baby is a girl !!!
- Are we to wait for a cabinet decision ?
- Are we to wait for a cabinet decision to get it banned ?
14 centuries ago, a book whose principles are usually marked as "obsolete", proclaimed before this mankind -
"And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We shall provide for them as well as for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin." Quran 17:31
- Isn't this relevant for 21st century ?
- Is this command only applicable to the 6th century Arabian continent ?

"The revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt, is from the Lord of all that exists." Quran 32:2
- No cabinet under the sky is able to declare such a statement.
- Every cabinet under the sky is incapable of declaring - "We shall provide".
Only Almighty God is capable of proclaiming such a statement.

It is really a thoughtful question. I shall share my understanding.
DeleteQuran teaches that this life is a test. A believer is supposed to put his trust only in Allah, in any matters, be it big or small. The more trust we have in Allah the more He helps us.
There are 100s of supplications of prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). In each such supplication prophet is putting his trust only in Allah.
"O You, Who Owns the glory and the honor, none has the right to be worshipped except You. We seek refuge with Your mercy. Grant Us success in all of our matters. Please, do not abandon us to rely on ourselves even for an instant nor on any of Your creation." - Imam Ibn Kathir at Quran 55:28
In another Hadith, we see
"If you trust in Allah observing a true trust in Him, then, indeed, He will give you provision as - provides the birds who emerge hungry in the morning and return with a full belly in the evening.” - Imam Turmudi.
Allah says -
And He will provide him from where he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things. Quran 65:3
So it is the 100% guarantee from Allah that He will provide the provision for believers who put their trust in Him.
Now, comes your question. There are people who suffer from poverty. What I understand is that the reason for their suffering is due to the following.
- Lack of The Belief in Allah.
- Lack of The Trust in Allah.
- Lack of The Practice of The Belief & The Trust in Allah.
The answer is from my very limited knowledge. Allah knows the best.
Being said this, a believer who puts his trust in Allah, should not expect a cosy life, always. He should expect tests from Allah. Allah says -
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient). Quran 2:155
A believer will be tested for the above. In these times he should be patient. He sees this world as a temporary place in the journey towards Allah.
A Believers Role in Removing The Poverty
Whenever we see people suffering from poverty, it is the duty of a believer to spent his money to eradicate the poverty. This is a detailed topic. I just wanted to mention it.
